Pakistan: Campaign for religious minorities in Balochistan
Center for Peace and Development (CPD) is one of the largest rights-based organizations in the province of Balochistan. Our core value is to promote peace and we use different tools to ensure peace in all walks of life, for us the provisions and sustainability of human rights is the foundation to ensure peace amongst all groups, irrespective of their color, cast, creed, race, culture, religious or political affiliations.
Those same rights are protected by the constitution of Pakistan. CPD not only promotes rights but also raises a voice for the protection of these rights and identifies the factors and forces which hamper the peaceful coexistence of different groups.
CPD has launched a campaign in suppotr of religious minorities, to bring them into the mainstream of society. Their active participation would be helpful indeed to identify their particular issues and their consultation would be of great significance towards the solution. Some tools are also published for the advocacy campaign, including the human rights provisions of the constitution of Pakistan, the Convention on the rights of persons belonging to minorities and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (article for the provisions of human rights to minorities.)
