Southern Africa: San Peoples sign common rights declaration

Members of the San peoples in Southern Africa have signed a Declaration on their rights and what they want their respective countries to do in order to advance their issues.
The Declaration is a product of the three days San Rights Regional Conference held in Gobabis, Namibia.

The conference was organized by the Working Group of Minorities in Southern Africa and brought in San representatives from Zimbabwe, Namibia, South Africa, Botswana, Angola and Zambia.

The Conference was held under the theme 'Anything for us, without us, is against us' and was officially opened by the Governor of Omaheke Region.

The 3 page Declaration was handed over to the Namibian Deputy Prime Minister's Special Advisor on the San Development Programme, Hon. Royal J.K. /Ui/o/oo by the Chairperson of WIMSA Board and Hai//om TA Councillor, Mrs. Theresia Menesia Somseb.
