Europe: A bike ride to meet linguistic minorities

My name is Emmanuel Le Merlus, I'm 42 years old. I'm Breton from Brittany to the North West of France. I'm an activist of the Breton language and culture. And I'm also interested in other European minorities. Brittany is populated by 4.5 millions Bretons. They are a Celtic people with a long history. The Breton language is close to other Celtic languages, particularly Cornish and Welsh spoken in Great Britain.

On 12th May 2010, I started a cycling tour of Europe to go and meet representatives of 81 linguistic minorities in 30 countries. These are all the countries of the European Union except Malta, Cyprus and Luxembourg. I've also gone to Albania, Macedonia, Serbia, Montenegro and Switzerland. I started my journey in Brittany, then I went to United Kingdom, Ireland...I travelled across Northern Europe, Scandinavia, the Baltic States, Eastern and Central Europe, the Balkans and Southern Europe before coming back to Brittany. I rode 20 770 kilometers for 2 years and 7 months. I finished this journey on 20th December 2012.
